Supplement Warnings ! Two for the price of 1 .. Liver damage and Formaldehyde

Another week another warning about a "diet pill".

SUPPLEMENT WARNING: OxyElitePro is a weight loss supplement that may be linked to 24 cases of serious liver inflammation. The FDA is asking consumers NOT to take it. Have you had an experience with this, or any other weight-loss supplement? SHARE this info, and let us know --

And another "health food" in trouble for making false claims!

You may be familiar with these "Smoothie" drinks from a company called NAKED (owned by Pepsi). Well, as it turns out the contents of these drinks aren't all-natural after all. Naked just agreed to settle a $9 MILLION dollar class action lawsuit for false labeling.

The drink is said to include 11 chemical additives, including Calcium pantothenate, which is synthetically produced from Formaldehyde. Here's a little info about Formaldehyde; Ingestion of as little as 30 mL (1 oz.) of a solution containing 37% formaldehyde has been reported to cause death in an adult human. Water solution of formaldehyde is very corrosive and its ingestion can cause severe injury to the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Moral to the story?  Forget  the Pills and Potions and eat your fruits and veggies or juice them yourself

Want to naturally curb your appetite?

  1. Make sure you are getting adequate calories and the correct macro nutrient balance
  2. Identify if you are eating from habit or hunger
  3. Eat more fiber . RDA is 25g a day. Fiber fills you up and helps with the break down of sugar in your body. Most people get 5-10g
  4. Don't go more than 4 hours without eating to keep your blood sugar level and avoid binging.
  5. Don't eat a carbohydrate without a protein to keep blood sugar and insulin levels even and tame hunger
