Popcorn

Did you know that popcorn has more antioxidents than fruit?  Popcorn kernels have  4 times more polyphenol (cancer-fighting plant compounds)compared to the average amount found in fruits. 

Of course, I'm talking about air or stove top popped popcorn popped with Olive or Coconut Oil. 




A typical movie theater popcorn contains 825 calories, 46 grams of fat,  and nearly 1,500 milligrams of sodium.

Most microwave popcorn bags contain nonstick chemicals linked to infertility, thyroid problems, and ADHD. 

For your best, most flavorful snack, make your own on the stove top using Olive or Coconut Oil .

Personally, I like to sprinkle on a little cumin and garlic salt or toss in a little bit of Parmesan cheese but however you do it, you won't find a healthier, tastier snack !!

  1. Air-popped popcorn has  31 calories per cup  (THREE WHOLE CUPS = 1 single bread serving)  
  2. Oil-popped popcorn has  55 calories per cup 
  3. Popcorn has 1.2 g of fiber per cup which isn't a whole lot but more than most processed snacks
